Waking up to preach this morning, I've had to admit that i didn't feel like doing this today, as john Kofi famously said in the movie green mile, "i is tired, boss". Why do we spend so much time trying to please everyone else and make so little effort to please God? Are you tired of pretending? I'm not sure if you ever wake up with complete inadequacy, the feelings that your resume is filled with failure. I don't know enough. I'm not good enough. Is the real you getting lost? Do you struggle with tough questions?
The truth is, there's a spiritual virus that has been going around Christian circles for centuries. It's the virus of doubt. Pastoral speaking, I ought to confess that I sometimes have my doubts about God and doubts about myself.
