Broken Bones

Hey family!

We hope you had a wonderful weekend. Our weekend was busy, and Pastor Dre's message was just the word we needed to sit down and hear. Earlier this year, Jesse and I went through some heartbreak that weighed so heavy on us. Our hearts still hurt but not quite as they did in March. It was the most significant moment of hardship either of us has endured. It left us broken, hurt, discouraged, and depressed. The one thing I knew was that God was not through with us yet, like Pastor Dre said on Sunday. I knew that despite our hardship, God still loved us. I knew God was still in control, and I knew God had a purpose in this, although I could not see it at all. I also knew that I had to fight the sadness enough to communicate all my thoughts with Jesse. This could break us or make us stronger, and thank God we came out stronger than ever on the other side.

In our season of brokenness, God spoke, and He spoke to Jesse. Jesse had just had a conversation with the counselor where she updated him on the impact he's made on a student's life. He was shocked to think he had made such a difference. Jesse stood in the middle of his school cafeteria, looking out at his students, and felt God say, "This is what you were made to do. This is where you're supposed to be.". Jesse already knew he liked working with students, but this was just such a confirmation of his life calling. The trial we endured remarkably softened his heart enough to receive that word. There was no doubt in him at all that what he heard was true for him.  He had to be incredibly broken and feel the pressure of life to receive the anointing. He rediscovered the joy of HIS salvation.

Are you in brokenness? Are you crying to God, wondering why the pressure has to be so heavy and complicated? Are you wondering why this depression is bringing trouble after trouble? Loss after loss. He wants to anoint you. He wants to speak to you; He wants to free you up for the next season. He wants you to feel the joy of His salvation. You have to experience some brokenness and heartache to see all the glory that God has for YOU. As Pastor Dre said, "They walked so that God could break you, only for Him to anoint you, only for Him to take you to the season that he wants to take you to.". We go through it because God has a plan for us. I'll say it again “If you’re going to suffer, suffer well.”- Pastor Dre. This is how broken bones rejoice.

Find the joy in your brokenness this week. Listen for God while you stand in tears, surprised at what He can do with your life. You were made for this! We are praying for your moment of anointing and revelation! We love you so much!

Jesse and Marissa
