Wisdom

Hey, y'all! Jesse and Marissa here. Today our discussion is going to be a little bit nerdy. How nerdy? Star Wars nerdy! Specifically, Anakin Skywalker. Major spoiler, he's Darth Vader. He doesn't become Vader simply because he was evil; he becomes this way because of his lack of wisdom and trust in the Jedi. This leads to his corruption and, ultimately, his decision to join the Dark side.

In his early years, he was led and trained to be a young Jedi. He had Trainers of the craft passing on wisdom of the force. They were Obi-wan, Mace Windu, and Yoda. Anakin was young and naive and felt that he was wiser than those teaching him. So much so that the leader of the Dark side was able to manipulate and convince Anakin to question his teachers and beliefs. Eventually, Anakin turned entirely to the Darkside and abandoned what Obi-Wan and Yoda taught him. Anakin relied on his own wisdom and arrogance instead of trusting in his teachings and the ways of the Jedi.

This week Pastor Dre talks about wisdom and who we allow to pour wisdom into us. He talks about seeking the right kind of wisdom. Wisdom in the word and Jesus. Sometimes we tend to take in information from anywhere that fits in our own agenda. We think every TikTok is a sign of confirmation instead of purging our desires through prayer. We listen to anyone but the wisdom of God or the Bible. It's just much more comfortable and easy that way.

This week as we scroll, chat with friends, read memes, and listen to podcasts, consider how much of that info you're taking to heart and who you're allowing to pour into you. We are in a fight that's already been won! So seek wisdom from your student leads, pastors, the Bible, and prayer. Ask God to help you have intentional moments this week with the right people giving you kingdom-focused advice. Don't be swayed by the glamour of this world that can be so enticing. Be mindful of trusting your own desires before praying on them. We hope to see you jedis at the next movement students meetup!

We love you and are praying for wisdom this week!
