While We Wait
What's up! Jesse and Marissa here!
During this pandemic, we have found ourselves cooking quite a bit! We have tried pretty complicated recipes and have also mastered making ramen noodles fancy. Have any of you picked up skills in the kitchen?
One thing I know for sure is that to get to the best part; you need patience. You know that part when all of the aromas fill the house, it's warm and ready to serve, you get a cold drink, maybe even take a picture for the gram because it looks that good. Then you're prepared to enjoy your hard work and eat. Well, for all of that to happen, you can't just start the pan and hope something comes together. You have to prepare. As you wait for the first step to be complete, you have to get the next step ready. If you wait too long, you might burn something. If you don't follow the directions, the end result might not be what you were hoping for either. As you wait for your meal to be complete, wait well.
In this strange and unpredictable time, God is asking us to wait well as He paints the big picture for us. As he completes the final product. Just like in cooking, we have to prepare and ask God for the directions that we need. If we don't stay on our toes, ready for the next step, that first part might burn or go to waste because we weren't ready. Anticipate alongside God what He has for you in 2021. Don't sit idle, hoping that it just works out without reading the directions. Pray and ask God, "what is it that you want me to do right now as I wait?"
This week, we want you to think about what you might be waiting for and how you're using your time now. You might be waiting for Covid to be over so you can see your friends. You might be waiting for winter break because tbh school is strange right now. You might be waiting for the depression and anxiety to have less control in your life. Whatever it is, seek God for direction and wait well.
We love you and are praying for you always!
Love, Jesse, and Marissa
